Colette by Colette Hayman

Project Overview

For Colette by Colette Hayman, a retail brand positioned around accessible fashion accessories for a broad, trend-driven customer base, the primary spatial challenge typically lies in balancing high-density product display with clear visual hierarchy, while maintaining efficient customer flow. In this type of fashion shop, limited floor area often constrains space utilisation, and inconsistent material application can weaken brand coherence and durability over time. In response, the project began with design engineering to rationalise display logic and establish a modular structure that could support flexible merchandising while improving traffic flow. Shop drawings development translated these principles into precise buildable details, ensuring alignment between material selection and structural integrity. During prototyping and sample development, adjustments were made to refine multi-material integration, particularly where durability and visual consistency needed to be balanced across high-touch fixtures and storage systems. This iterative process enabled optimisation of storage systems and fixture layouts, improving both accessibility and display density without compromising circulation. Through controlled shopfitting manufacturing, followed by QC and inspection, the final delivery achieved consistent material and structural performance, resulting in a retail environment with clearer merchandising logic, improved durability, and more efficient use of space.
